Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy in Melanoma

Updated: May 6, 2022

We recently published our data on this procedure and its efficacy and safety profile

Our recent paper shows the power of sentinel lymph node biopsy (SNB) for head and neck melanoma. Once identified on the SPECT-CT scan our detection rate is 100% with little to no morbidity.

Sentinel lymph node biopsy is the most sensitive staging procedure for melanoma. It is capable of detecting disease at microscopic levels unlike CT, MRI and PET scans.

Southampton is a national melanoma centre and the multi-disciplinary team are able to offer the latest and most advanced treatment options. Our medical oncology team use the latest DNA guided immunotherapy treatments.
